Aim: To compare the profile of antimicrobials used, before and after implementation of RDC44/2010, in patients with positive microbial resistance. Method: Cross-sectional analyzes carried out in two phases (Phase I – May to October 2010. Phase II – February to July 2011). Data were collected in reports from the computerized system of the general teaching hospital and analyzed using the statistical software Stata/SE 12.0. Data from 4,786 patients in phase I and 4,261 in phase II were analyzed. Of these, 180 and 115 patients, phases I and II respectively, were identified with results of resistant microorganisms. Results: When analyzing the use of antimicrobials after the identification of resistance, statistical significance (p<0.05) was observed in the greater addition and withdrawal of some drugs in phase II, when compared to I. Conclusion: There was no change in the profile of antimicrobials used before and after the identification of the first strength result when comparing the phases.
