The importance of pharmaceutical attention for pregnant patients with arterial hypertension

High blood pressure during pregnancy can be dangerous for both mother and child. However, most women give birth to healthy children. If, in addition to hypertension, the excretion of proteins in the urine increases and the woman develops edema, then a life-threatening situation may arise. It is estimated that one in ten pregnant women has high blood pressure. So careful control and rest are needed. The main objective of the article is to verify the benefits of Pharmaceutical care for pregnant patients with high blood pressure. This is a systematic review, of a qualitative nature, with exploratory objectives, using the PRISMA methodology as data collection instruments in studies published between 2016 and 2022 in the VHL (Virtual Health Library), Scielo and PubMed. These studies, after being selected, were read and interpreted, using studies in Portuguese, English and Spanish. Initially, 95 studies were identified, where after filtering, 10 studies were selected to compose this systematic review. Gestational Hypertension occurs when the patient has high blood pressure, which can lead to various problems such as eclampsia. It is concluded that Pharmaceutical Care for pregnant women with Hypertension is about dialogue and follow-up, where through counseling on medications and monitoring of the patient's health, it is possible to guarantee the health of both the mother and her developing child.
