Gender equality is an issue/problem of the environment in this current period. Despite this, there is no bibliometric examination on the types and standards of publication of articles on this issue, in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly, with objective 5 of the 2030 Agenda, in this Decade of Action for progress and achievement of the Global Goals. This article aimed to map the main literature related to the discussion on gender equality and its environmental links, according to the principles of the 2030 Agenda. For this, a bibliometric study was carried out with data retrieved from the Scopus database, considering mainly the analyses proposed by this scientific base. Regarding the results, twenty-eight high-impact scientific articles, authors, countries, research institutions, funders and areas of knowledge that directly addressed the main problems of gender equality in line with objective 5 of the 2030 Agenda were mapped. It may be concluded that the studies, analyzed bibliometrically, can be useful to researchers and decision makers interested in the topic addressed, as it allowed an overview of information and bibliometric data on gender equality that are relevant to the sustainability of humanity.
