Terapia com laser de baixa potência estimula a reparação tecidual da articulação temporomandibular de ratos obesos e submetidos a movimentação ortodôntica

Resumo

O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar os efeitos da terapia com laser de baixa potência sobre as alterações histológicas na articulação temporomandibular causadas pela movimentação dentaria induzida em ratos obesos. Foram utilizados quarenta filhotes machos de ratos Wistar, trinta filhotes receberam durante os cinco primeiros dias de vida injeções subcutâneas na região cervical de 4g/Kg/dia de glutamato monossódico (animais obesos - MSG) e dez receberam injeções de solução salina hiperosmótica, 1,25g/Kg/dia (animais controles - CTL). Foram formados quatro grupos experimentais (n=10/grupo): Grupo 1: Controle (CTL), ratos que não foram submetidos a nenhum procedimento experimental; Grupo 2: ratos obesos sem movimentação dentária induzida (MSG); Grupo 3: ratos obesos que foram submetidos a movimentação dentária induzida (MDI) (MSG + MDI); Grupo 4: ratos obesos que foram submetidos a MDI e submetidos a TLBP (MSG + MDI+ TLBP). Aos 90 dias foi instalado o dispositivo de movimentação dentária induzida (MDI) nos grupos 3 e 4. Aos 91 dias foi iniciado o tratamento com o laser de baixa potência. Aos 97 dias de experimento, os animais foram pesados, medidos e sacrificados. As articulações temporomandibulares (ATM) do lado direito foram retiradas, fixadas e processadas para histologia. Os animais do grupo obeso e tratados com terapia de laser de baixa potência (MSG+MDI+TLBP) apresentaram redução da espessura do disco articular e da hiperplasia e vascularização da membrana sinovial da ATM. Concluímos que terapia com laser de baixa potência é eficaz no tratamento das alterações histológicas da ATM causadas pela movimentação ortodôntica em ratos com obesidade hipotalâmica.
