Identificación de condiciones maternas y factores de riesgo para el embarazo adolescente: una revisión integradora

Resumen

El embarazo adolescente es un problema de salud pública, que involucra aspectos biológicos, sociales, económicos y culturales. Por lo tanto, es importante comprender las condiciones maternas y los factores de riesgo asociados con el embarazo en esta etapa del desarrollo humano, para poder diseñar mejores intervenciones y prácticas clínicas. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo identificar las condiciones maternas y los factores de riesgo asociados con el embarazo adolescente. Por ello, se realizó una revisión integrativa de la literatura, utilizando la estrategia PICO. Los resultados mostraron que este fenómeno tiene implicaciones físicas, socioeconómicas y educativas para quienes lo viven. Las madres jóvenes suelen tener pérdidas, muchas veces prevenibles, que aumentan el riesgo de mortalidad materna e infantil. Se destacan las condiciones de vulnerabilidad social y la falta de apoyo familiar, que aumentan el riesgo de situaciones adversas y desenlaces negativos. Con esto, es importante que se realicen intervenciones de educación en salud para que haya menos riesgo, logrando que las mujeres tengan a sus hijos en un ambiente más favorable.
