El impacto del ayuno intermitente en las personas con diabetes

Resumen

El objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar el impacto del ayuno intermitente en personas con diabetes tipo 2. El tipo de estudio abordado es una revisión integrativa, que analiza los resultados presentados en estudios de casos humanos recopilados en las bases de datos PubMED, Googledocs, Ebsco,. entre otros se utilizaron los siguientes descriptores: ayuno intermitente, diabetes, obesidad, ayuno intermitente en diabetes, ayuno intermitente, diabetes, obesidad, ayuno intermitente en diabetes. Se incluyeron artículos publicados en los últimos 10 años y se consultaron alrededor de 23 referencias. Se ha demostrado que el ayuno intermitente (AI) es beneficioso en el tratamiento de la diabetes tipo 2, lo que resulta en una reducción del peso corporal, un mejor control glucémico y posiblemente un mejor control de la enfermedad. Aunque los estudios son limitados, existe evidencia preliminar que sugiere beneficios para reducir el peso y mejorar los niveles de glucosa en sangre. Sin embargo, se necesitan estudios a largo plazo para evaluar completamente los beneficios y riesgos de este enfoque.
