Introduction: Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) compromises the quality of life of patients due to its physical and emotional impacts. This study aimed to assess the quality of life of individuals with suspected or confirmed IBD diagnosis, using the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Questionnaire (IBDQ). The study sought to identify the main factors associated with the deterioration of well-being and compare potential differences between newly diagnosed patients and those with a previous diagnosis, contributing to a better understanding of the psychosocial effects of the disease and the effectiveness of available treatments. Methodology: Observational, cross-sectional, and qualitative-quantitative study conducted between November 2024 and February 2025, with 18 patients attended at the Medical Sciences Outpatient Clinic of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Minas Gerais (ACM-FCMMG). The IBDQ was used to assess quality of life, correlating its domains with clinical and sociodemographic variables. Statistical analysis included Wilcoxon and Fisher tests. Results: Only 17% of patients reported excellent quality of life, while 50% were classified as having regular or poor quality of life. Severe intestinal symptoms, such as frequent diarrhea, and emotional symptoms were the main factors associated with worsening well-being. Conclusion: Disease activity and its intestinal and emotional symptoms significantly impact quality of life, reinforcing the need for multidisciplinary care with psychological support. Effective therapeutic strategies should focus both on clinical control of IBD and on patients’ mental health.
