This work aims to identify Advanced Nursing Practices in Brazil and worldwide, as well as their impacts and advances in health. It is a study with a qualitative approach, of the type integrative review, which had as database the Virtual Health Library (VHL). Complete articles in Portuguese and English published between 2011 and 2020 were selected. At the end of the application of the previously described criteria, 7 articles emerged. In the data analysis, four thematic categories were established: Advanced Nursing Practice; Nursing as a category; Nursing Education and Advances with the EPA. The research led us to conclude that Advanced Nursing Practice is innovative for public health, which facilitates access and provides improvements in care, obtaining resolution to population problems. It is more evident in high-income countries, however, it should be a priority in less developed countries. EPA faces challenges that need to be faced, such as: implementation of technical standards, educational improvement programs and professional recognition.
