Smoking as a life habit of nursing and Nursing academics: a literature review

Smoking is considered an epidemic and is the leading preventable cause of illness and premature death. This study aims to: identify smoking among nursing students and nurses and describe the actions to combat smoking carried out by students and nurses. Guiding questions: How is smoking as a lifestyle among nursing students and nurses? What are the anti-smoking actions carried out by academics and nurses? It is a literature review that followed the following steps: establishment of the hypothesis and objectives of the literature review, establishment of inclusion and exclusion criteria for articles. They were selected in the period from March 2020. A 5-year time frame was established, with the intention of mapping the development process of the most recent publications on the theme in the country, and the following national research databases were used. Virtual Health Library (VHL). Subsequently, the findings were grouped into categories, according to the content. The study brings out the concern with nursing students and professionals in order to encourage the adoption of healthier and more responsible habits in their lifestyle.
