Estrategia para el tratamiento de la ránula hundida. Reporte de un caso

Resumen

Ránula se define como un pseudoquiste originado por la fuga de líquido mucinoide de la glándula sublingual, a menudo asociado con traumatismo u obstrucción del conducto de la glándula. Clínicamente, se caracteriza por un color azulado y translúcido en el piso de la boca y puede clasificarse como una ránula intraoral o hundida. El diagnóstico incluye exámenes clínicos y por imágenes detallados combinados con hallazgos histopatológicos. Se pueden aplicar enfoques terapéuticos para tratar esta lesión, como marsupialización, escisión de la ránula con o sin la glándula sublingual y escisión de la ránula junto con la glándula sublingual y submandibular. El objetivo de este trabajo fue reportar un caso de ránula hundida, tratada mediante exéresis seguida de marsupialización de la lesión quística, luego de un año de seguimiento con recidiva. Concluimos que un tratamiento menos invasivo puede no presentar la mejor estrategia para el tratamiento de la ránula hundida, debido a las mayores posibilidades de recurrencia.
