Limitaciones en el infarto agudo de miocardio y efectos en la calidad de vida del paciente

Las enfermedades cardiovasculares son consideradas la principal causa de muerte en los países desarrollados y son responsables de dejar limitaciones en los pacientes que la sobreviven, lo que tiene un impacto considerable en su calidad de vida (CV), pronóstico y salud. Así, el objetivo es analizar las limitaciones provocadas por el infarto agudo de miocardio (IAM) y las repercusiones en la CV de estos pacientes. Para ello, se desarrolló esta revisión sistemática, que reunió evidencia disponible en plataformas de búsqueda como la Virtual Health Library (VHL), Medical Publisher (PubMed) y Semantic Scholar. Se utilizaron descriptores de ciencias de la salud (DeCS) “myocardial infarction”, “quality of life” y “limitation of activity, chronic”, en combinación con un operador booleano “AND” para la búsqueda, además del filtro para comprender los resultados de la última 10 años (2011-2021). Finalmente, se realizó un cribado largo para incluir hallazgos más pertinentes que respondieran a la pregunta PICO, dando como resultado 26 publicaciones. Entre los principales hallazgos de los artículos se destacan cambios principalmente en las dimensiones de actividades habituales, funciones físicas, movilidad, dolor y ansiedad / depresión, reflejando la presencia de limitaciones como fatiga, angina, disnea, síntomas de trastornos postestrés traumáticos, disfunción eréctil, limitaciones económicas y de laboratorio. Los pacientes post-IAM con más limitaciones, tenían menor calidad de vida, lo que puede verse como un factor predictivo para aumentar las posibilidades de recurrencia y mortalidad. Es importante que los profesionales de la salud conozcan y actúen en este ciclo patológico con intervenciones individualizadas, orientadas a la supervivencia y calidad de vida de los pacientes.
