Efectos de seladores en la in vitro desmineralización del esmalte alrededor de brackets ortodônticos

Resumen

El estudio in vitro evaluó el efecto de seladores, CLINPRO™ XT y FLUROSHIELD®, para prevenir la desmineralización del esmalte dental en la región circunscrita a los brackets ortodónticos, mediante microdureza y microscopia electrónica de barrido. Utilizamos sesenta coronas de dientes bovinos, divididas aleatoriamente en grupos (n:20): G1 (brackets /control), G2 (brackets/CLINPRO™) y G3 (brackets/FLUROSHIELD®). Sujetamos muestras al desafío cariogénico (DES/RE), evaluadas en microdureza Knoop (25 g,10 s), en la superficie del esmalte dental, a partir del bracket con distancias de 1.000 µm, 2.000 µm y 3.000 µm y 100 µm, 200 µm, 300 µm y 400µm en la interfaz en profundidad, en direcciones incisal y cervical. Obtuvimos imágenes en MEV de la superficie en la región cervical. Los resultados analizados en pruebas estadísticas ANOVA y Tukey (p< 0,05), mostraron significativa influencia en los valores de microdureza en interacciones Tratamiento/Distancia; Tratamiento/Distancia/Región (p= 0,00) en los grupos G2 y G3 presentaron más microdureza del esmalte en áreas más cercas al bracket con selador, valores mayores de microdureza con selador CLINPRO™. En las muestras sin selador no observamos influencia de interacciones con microdureza (p>0,05). El selador CLINPRO™ presentó valores mayores de microdureza y efectividad comparándoles con los grupos control y selador FLUROSHIELD. Concluimos que los seladores fueron más efectivos al prevenir la desmineralización del esmalte en regiones alrededor de brackets y menos efectivos en las más distantes. La composición química y propiedades del selador interfieren en su acción de reducir la desmineralización del esmalte dental.
