Objective: to analyze the main neurological disorders resulting from infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) through an integrative review. Methodology: this is an integrative literature review study. For the selection of articles, two databases were used: PUBMED and Scielo, and the following inclusion criteria were established: case report studies and clinical studies, carried out in human beings, available in English, Spanish and Portuguese, attributing the time cut of 1 year (2020-2021). The final sample used in this review consisted of 36 articles. Results and discussion: although the main target is the human respiratory system, the coronavirus has neurotropic and neuroinvasive potential, having the ability to reach the central nervous system (CNS). Thus, studies have shown associations between SARS-Cov-2 infection and the occurrence of headache, encephalopathy, cerebrovascular disease, cerebral hemorrhage, encephalomyelitis, impaired consciousness and delirium, tonic-clonic seizures, impaired smell and taste, Guillain-Barré syndrome, rhabdomyolysis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's and multiple sclerosis. Conclusion: from the current literature review, it is inferred that the rates of neurological impairment in cases of COVID-19 are significant and demand the development of more studies on the subject.
