Refinamiento del panel de abanico en redes avioncito: una estrategia para la reducción de la fauna acompañante

Históricamente, las pescas de camarones han generado capturas expresivas de fauna acompañante, independientemente de la tipologia de las artes de pesca implementadas (activa o pasiva). En Sudamérica, las redes avioncito son utilizadas para la captura de camarones, adoptadas en la escala artesanal, donde trabajos anteriores apuntan al impacto ambiental derivado de estas capturas. Para reducir la asimilación de capturas accesorias, son utilizados dispositivos de reducción de fauna acompañante (BRDs), que representan una posibilidad adequada a este fin. En nuestro trabajo, dimensionamos el refinamiento del panel de abanico para redes avioncito, como una estrategia para reducción de la fauna acompañante. Fueron realizados trece ensayos de pesca utilizando la red normal (RN) y la red alterada (RA), o sea, como la alteración propuesta (13 esfuerzos de pesca con RN y 13 esfuerzos de pesca con RA, respectivamente). Después de las campañas, fueron capturados 697 camarones, 435 cangrejos y 476 juveniles de peces teleósteos. La red alterada mostró un aumento de la proporción "recurso objetivo / fauna acompañante" en relación a la red normal. En relación al bycatch, constituido por la familia Gerreidae, se mostró más predominante en las campañas de pesca. RA generó 54% de aumento en las capturas de camarón, sin reducciones significativas de fauna acompañante. Aunque la reducción de capturas accesorias no haya sido alcanzada, la alternativa tecnológica propuesta en este trabajo puede contribuir para mayores capturas de camarón, aumentando la creación de ingresos de los pescadores locales.
