Nurse's knowledge about malignant fungating wound: a scope review

Aim: To identify and describe how the literature approaches nurse’s knowledge in the management and care of the tumor wound. Method: scoping review of the literature. Electronic databases were used, inclusion of articles published in portuguese, english or spanish, which were discussed about the nurse's knowledge related to a tumor. Results: of the 100 articles retrieved, five were included in the review. The main information demonstrates that the knowledge regarding nursing care about the management of tumor wound symptoms such as pain, odor and bleeding, needs to be deeper Conclusion: this scope review of the literature revealed that there is still a lack of publications related to knowledge of the nurse in a tumor wound, its management and symptoms, in addition to explaining their care demands.
