Evidencia de omisiones en los cuidados de enfermería y sus motivos: revisión integradora

Resumen

Objetivo: Identificar en la literatura científica los cuidados de enfermería que se omiten regularmente y las razones de esa omisión en las unidades hospitalarias. Métodos: Revisión integrativa cuya búsqueda bibliográfica se realizó de marzo a julio de 2022, mediante la consulta de cinco bases de datos: MEDLINE, LILACS, CINAHAL, EMBASE y SCOPUS. La pregunta de investigación se basó en la estrategia PICO en la que el problema fue la “omisión del cuidado”, el fenómeno de interés fueron los “motivos de la omisión” y el contexto fue el “cuidado de enfermería”. Los criterios de inclusión fueron: artículos completos relacionados con el objeto de investigación, sin restricción de idioma, provenientes de revistas nacionales e internacionales, indexados en las bases de datos mencionadas y sin limitación de tiempo. Resultados: Entre las producciones encontradas, fueron seleccionados 20 artículos que pasaron el tamiz de criterios de inclusión y exclusión, a partir del tema “cuidados de enfermería omitidos y sus motivos”. Conclusión: Se evidenció que el cuidado de enfermería que se omite regularmente contribuye negativamente a la calidad de la atención ofrecida al usuario de salud y a la satisfacción laboral de los profesionales de enfermería.
