Evaluación del efecto anticarcinogénico del Kefir sobre Drosophila melanogaster

Resumen

Introducción: La estimación de nuevos casos de cáncer por parte del Instituto Nacional del Cáncer (INCA), en 2020, fue de más de 620 mil casos y se debe considerar la importante asociación entre las neoplasias y el estilo de vida. El kéfir ha ido ganando terreno debido a sus propiedades, entre ellas su acción anticancerígena. Metas: Evaluar el efecto anticancerígeno del kéfir sobre las células de Drosophila melanogaster. Metodología: El kéfir se probó mediante el Epithelial Tumor Test (ETT) en D. melanogaster. Se cruzaron hembras del linaje wts y machos del linaje mwh. Las larvas descendientes se trataron con tres concentraciones de kéfir: 1,25 mg/mL; 2,5 mg/mL y 5,0 mg/mL solos y en asociación con el fármaco de quimioterapia doxorrubicina (DXR). Resultados y Discusión: El kéfir no fue cancerígeno en ninguna de las concentraciones probadas y tuvo un efecto anticancerígeno en las tres concentraciones probadas. Consideraciones finales: El estudio sugiere un efecto beneficioso del kéfir en la prevención y el tratamiento del cáncer.
