Cuidados paliativos oncológicos e cuidado espiritual para mulheres no contexto hospitalar: scoping review

Resumen

Objetivos: Identificar estudios que muestren un abordaje de la espiritualidad en cuidados paliativos en mujeres con cáncer, realizados por equipos multidisciplinarios y/o interdisciplinarios en contexto hospitalario. Método: Scoping Review basado en las recomendaciones del Instituto Joanna Briggs e informado por PRISMA-ScR Extension for Scoping Review. Se realizaron búsquedas en seis bases de datos, a partir de los descriptores: mujer, neoplasias, espiritualidad, cuidados paliativos, equipo de atención al paciente y atención terciaria en salud; sin restricciones de idioma y año de publicación. Resultados: De los 801 artículos analizados, se incluyeron 4, publicados entre 2014 y 2020. El número total de participantes fue de 1.532, siendo 733 mujeres y 433 hombres. Solo un estudio tuvo 366 cuidadores/familiares como participantes, 62% mujeres y 38% hombres. La edad mínima osciló entre 18 y 21 años. Conclusiones: Los resultados indican que el enfoque de las intervenciones de Cuidado Espiritual (CE) en cuidados paliativos hospitalarios fue la atención directa al paciente y sus cuidadores/familiares, utilizando las siguientes herramientas: evaluación de las necesidades de cuidado; propuesta/plan de cuidados; manejo de síntomas/ajustes de tratamiento; educación en salud enfocada en el Bienestar Espiritual (BE); preparación para la muerte y el morir digno. Ante la complejidad del abordaje, los profesionales de la salud paliativa necesitan profundizar la discusión sobre la propia espiritualidad en el ambiente de trabajo, lo que facilitaría la comprensión de la transculturalidad de las experiencias religioso/espirituales con seguridad y calidad de lo CE, con el fin de promover el BE de pacientes con cáncer y sus cuidadores/familiares.
