Juegos Serios para la rehabilitación de pacientes hemiparéticos por Accidente Cerebrovascular: impacto en la calidad de vida

Resumen

La hemiparesia es el cuadro clínico típico del Accidente Cerebrovascular (ACV), resultando en importantes pérdidas funcionales que comprometen la calidad de vida (CV) de los pacientes. Si bien la fisioterapia convencional es beneficiosa en la rehabilitación, existen algunas limitaciones. Los Juegos Serios (JS) corresponden a una alternativa viable en rehabilitación porque hacen más motivador el proceso. El objetivo era verificar los efectos terapéuticos de un programa de ejercicio utilizando un JS en las funciones motoras de miembros inferiores, movilidad funcional y calidad de vida de pacientes hemiparéticos después del ACV. Este es un ensayo clínico controlado no aleatorizado, con 24 pacientes en fase subaguda o crónica de la enfermedad. El grupo experimental (GE n=16) recibió tratamiento para el miembro inferior parético utilizando el JS mim-Pong. El grupo control (GC n=8) recibió tratamiento con kinesioterapia convencional. Fueron 20 sesiones (dos veces por semana), con una duración aproximada de 30 minutos. Se evaluaron: deterioro motor (Fugl-Meyer-EFM), nivel cognitivo (Mini Mental State Examination), movilidad funcional (Timed Up and Go Test), percepción de CV (Nottingham Health Profile-PSN) y percepción de mejoría (Likert escala). Se observaron mejoras significativas solo en el GE. Destaca el tamaño del efecto (TDE) grande obtenido en las variables evaluadas con el PSN (TDE=0,5) y con el EFM (TDE=0,6). También hubo superioridad del GE en la percepción de mejoría. Se concluye que El JS mim-Pong puede ser considerado un recurso valioso en la rehabilitación de pacientes hemiparéticos después del ACV, ya que fue capaz de proporcionar mejoras motoras y funcionales, que impactaron directamente en la CV de los pacientes, siendo estas mejoras superiores a las obtenidos con la fisioterapia convencional.
