Extractos y Fracciones con potencial antifúngico para el tratamiento de trastornos capilares

Resumen

Las plantas medicinales se han utilizado con varias aplicaciones terapéuticas, como, trastornos del cabello. Entre los síntomas que provocan estas enfermedades, es pertinente destacar los daños psíquicos como la pérdida de autoestima y los síntomas físicos como picazón y ardor. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo resaltar el efecto beneficioso de las plantas medicinales frente a los síntomas causados ​​por los trastornos del cabello. Esta es una revisión integrativa de la literatura utilizando las plataformas Pubmed, Science direct y Google Scholar y como descriptores “fitoquímico”, “animal”, “dermatitis seborreica”, “planta”, “antiinflamatorio extracts”, “antifúngico” en inglés, cruzados usando los operadores booleanos “AND” u “OR”. La selección de trabajos se realizó después de la lectura del título y resumen, con fecha de publicación entre los años 2012-2022, excluyendo estudios de revisión, artículos duplicados y fugas temáticas. Tras la extracción de los datos, se seleccionaron 23 estudios que demostraron la eficacia de las plantas sobre los trastornos capilares, ejerciendo acción antifúngica (especialmente sobre hongos de las especies Malassezia spp. y Trichophyton spp.) y antioxidante debido a la presencia de componentes fitoquímicos como flavonoides, fenoles, taninos, terpenoides, entre otros. Cabe destacar que la mayoría de estas plantas se procesan mediante la técnica de maceración para obtener sus extractos. Por lo tanto, los compuestos bioactivos de estas plantas pueden ser utilizados para el desarrollo de productos farmacéuticos con el fin de ampliar las opciones terapéuticas del mercado y optimizar la calidad de vida de los pacientes, por lo que es fundamental fomentar la investigación científica que discuta la seguridad, la eficacia y la toxicidad por el uso de estos metabolitos.
