Uso de medicamentos a base de hierbas en la Enfermedad Hemorroidal

El presente estudio es una revisión de la literatura sobre el uso de fitoterápicos en el tratamiento de la Enfermedad Hemorroidal (EH), un tipo de patología anorrectal, cuyo cuadro clínico incluye sangrado al defecar, malestar anal, prurito, dolor y protrusión anal. Se buscó recopilar datos de ensayos clínicos, guías, estudios experimentales y revisiones sistemáticas para presentar medicamentos a base de hierbas que hayan demostrado eficacia en el tratamiento de la EH, dado que su manejo estándar tiene varios efectos secundarios y complicaciones. Entre los fitoterápicos evaluados (ej. Terminalia chebula Retz, Allium iranicum y Centella asiatica L.) mostraron mejoría significativa, principalmente en parámetros como: sangrado, disminución de la actividad inflamatoria, y en los patrones clínico y endoscópico de la enfermedad. Por tanto, existe una gran necesidad de introducirlos como terapia alternativa o adyuvante al tratamiento convencional, y fomentar más investigaciones para explorar su eficacia clínica, colaborando así en la mejora de la calidad de vida de las personas afectadas.
