Aislamiento de Trueperella pyogenes en pulmón de vaquilla

Resumen

El presente informe describe la identificación de Trueperella pyogenes, una Actinobacteria de relevancia clínica que ha estado sujeta a cambios taxonómicos en los últimos años, asociada a una amplia variedad de condiciones patológicas, como mastitis, metritis y neumonía, que pueden estar asociados a pacientes inmunodeprimidos y/o sometidos a condiciones estresantes. Sin embargo, su carácter zoonótico aún no está bien definido. A partir de un fragmento de pulmón de una vaquilla que murió bajo sospecha de Enfermedad Pulmonar Bovina (DBP). El presente reporte de caso describe la identificación de Trueperella pyogenes, El fragmento fue enviado al Laboratorio de Microbiología de la FMVA para la realización e identificación del agente etiológico. Luego del cultivo en Agar Sangre y Mac Conkey en condiciones microaerófilas por un período de 48 horas con monitoreo diario, se observó el crecimiento puro y exuberante de pequeñas colonias que presentaban pigmentación translúcida, rodeadas de un halo de β-hemólisis, y que al microscopio mostró bacilos gram positivos del tipo “corineformes”. Tras realizar las pruebas bioquímicas y diferenciales, se concluyó que se trataba de Trueperella pyogenes,
