Protocolo de higiene bucal en pacientes diagnosticados con neumonia asociada a ventilador e ingresados en UCI: Una revision integrativa

Resumen

Esta revisión integradora tiene como objetivo evaluar los protocolos de higiene en pacientes diagnosticados de neumonía asociada a ventilador e ingresados en UCI. Los artículos fueron publicados en los últimos 5 años y el levantamiento bibliográfico se realizó a través del acceso en línea a BVS Brasil, MEDLINE, LILACS y Pubmed en inglés, portugués y español entre 2017 y 2022. Los criterios de elegibilidad incluyeron: pacientes adultos mayores de 18 años; estudios transversales; cohortes; ensayos y artículos clínicos y experimentales que abordaban la higiene y los protocolos, y finalmente dieciséis estudios se utilizaron en la investigación. A través de los resultados, es posible constatar que la presencia de un protocolo de higiene para los pacientes en la unidad de cuidados intensivos es efectiva para prevenir y desarrollar NAV. El presente trabajo sugiere una asociación positiva entre estos protocolos y la prevención de la neumonía asociada a ventiladores; sin embargo, se necesitan estudios más detallados para crear un protocolo estándar y eficiente.
