Instrumentación mecanizada en el tratamiento endodóntico de dientes temporales: Una revisión integradora

Resumen

La salud de los dientes de leche es crucial para la calidad de vida de los niños, pero la caries es común y puede llevar a tratamientos complejos. Problemas como la cooperación de los niños y la complejidad de las endodoncias dificultan el tratamiento. Por lo tanto, se prefiere la instrumentación mecánica a las limas manuales, ya que limpia mejor los canales, acelera el tratamiento y crea canales más uniformes y predecibles. Este estudio tiene como objetivo revisar las ventajas y desventajas del uso de instrumentación mecanizada en el tratamiento de dientes temporales, con base en artículos científicos de fuentes acreditadas como SciELO, MEDLINE, PubMed, Springer y Periodicals Capes. Luego de una búsqueda que encontró inicialmente 575 artículos, se seleccionaron 12 de ellos para el estudio con base en criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Estos artículos fueron publicados entre 2018 y 2022, siendo 2019 el que tuvo mayor número de publicaciones (5), seguido de 2022 (4) y 2018 (2). También se incluyó un estudio de 2020, pero no se seleccionó ningún estudio de 2021, por falta de publicaciones en ese año. El uso de instrumentación mecanizada para tratar los dientes de leche es prometedor y ofrece mayor eficacia, seguridad y precisión en comparación con los métodos manuales tradicionales. Sin embargo, faltan estudios clínicos en esta área, lo que pone de relieve la necesidad de realizar más investigaciones.
