Evaluación del posicionamiento del canal mandibular en prototipos biomédicos estereolitográficos

Resumen

Objetivo: El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la precisión del posicionamiento de los conductos mandibulares en prototipos estereolitográficos comparándolos con las mandíbulas humanas secas sobre las que se realizaron. Material y métodos: 10 mandíbulas humanas (20 conductos mandibulares) fueron sometidas a una tomografía computerizada y reproducidas en biomodelos estereolitográficos transparentes con los conductos mandibulares visibles para poder tomar medidas lineales entre puntos predeterminados y compararlas. Para analizar los datos se utilizó la prueba t de muestras pareadas, y los valores p < 0,05 se consideraron estadísticamente significativos. Resultados: Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que existe una diferencia relativa estadísticamente significativa de aproximadamente el 10,21% entre las medidas obtenidas en mandíbulas secas y biomodelos. Por último, se evaluó la similitud y la variabilidad de las mediciones intra e interexaminadores y se observó una gran concordancia en ambos casos, lo que demuestra la reproducibilidad del método utilizado. Conclusión: Son necesarios más estudios antes de que el canal mandibular de los prototipos estereolitográficos pueda utilizarse como parámetro para uso clínico.

Graduated in Dentistry from the Federal University of Sergipe in 2002; Specialist in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry from the Brazilian Dental Association of Sergipe (2005) and Bahia (2010) respectively; and Master in Implant Dentistry from the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health (2013). He has taught as part of the teaching team for the Lato Senso (specialization) courses in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry at ABO-SE and Tiradentes University (UNIT), and as a guest lecturer in Occlusion and Integrated Practice at the Federal University of Sergipe. He currently teaches on the undergraduate Dentistry course at UNIAGES and on the specialization course in Prosthodontics at CIA. She also has the experience of having worked as a team member in the government's Family Health program and as an alternate member of the Sergipe State Dental Surgeons' Union. She has been working in private practice since graduating and today, more specifically, in the sub-areas of aesthetics, implantology, prosthetics and TMD. He has presented and supervised scientific papers at national congresses and at the end of specialization courses, as well as taking part in at least a dozen examining boards for Lato Senso course conclusion papers. He has published scientific articles, including a book chapter in the field of implant dentistry.

Lívia Prates Soares, Escola Baiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública

Dr. Lívia Prates has a degree in Dentistry from the Federal University of Bahia (2002), is a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology and a Master's Degree in Dentistry in the area of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2005), completed her PhD in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology from the Postgraduate Program in Dentistry at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (2011). Since 2020, she has also been a Specialist in Implant Dentistry at the Bahiana Foundation for the Development of Sciences. Since 2002, she has taught Oral Anatomy, General Physiology, Surgical Propaedeutics 1 and 2, Surgery 1, Surgery 2 and Surgery 3 at the following dental schools: Federal University of Bahia, Metropolitan Education Union (UNIME), Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health (EBMSP). She was a preceptor and vice-coordinator of the Residency and Specialization in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology based at the Roberto Santos General Hospital and EBMSP for 10 years. Since 2016, she has been on duty at SAMU during a multi-victim event (CARNAVAL - SSA/BA), treating the injured and traumatized. She was coordinator of the NEOBA Oral Surgery Improvement Course. Professor of the Specialization Course in Orthodontics - NEOBA/IPEO, responsible for Orthognathic Surgery and Head and Neck Anatomy. She is a member of the clinical staff at Hospital Português da Bahia/ SSA-BA and Hospital Santo Amaro/SSA-BA; as well as being registered as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at various hospitals in Bahia. Today, she coordinates the Minor Oral Surgery training course at the Peres Institute - GO, and teaches orthodontics courses at the Peres Institute. Clinical staff at Hospital do Coração de Goiás, Hospital Jacob Facuri and HUGOL. She is also a registered oral and maxillofacial surgeon at several hospitals in Goiânia. CEO and founding partner of ICON (Instituto de Cirurgia Ortognatica do Nordeste) and MIT (Maxillofacial International Team).

He holds a degree in Dentistry from Faculdades Integradas da União Educacional do Planalto Central (2015) and a degree in Physiotherapy from Universidade Paulista (2011).
