Los impactos de la crononutrición y la alimentación en el ciclo menstrual

Resumen

El ciclo circadiano es el mecanismo de adaptación del organismo a la duración del día y de la noche. A través de los relojes biológicos, el cuerpo humano puede ajustar los procesos fisiológicos a los eventos cíclicos diarios. El desequilibrio de estos relojes puede afectar negativamente al organismo, resultando en trastornos metabólicos. El desarrollo de los síntomas de la síndrome premenstrual depende, entre otros factores, de la relación con el patrón de ingesta alimentaria, que puede empeorar o aliviar estos síntomas. La aplicación de la crononutrición como intervención terapéutica en el restablecimiento de la homeostasis y la atenuación de los síntomas del período menstrual ha demostrado ser prometedora. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar los impactos del patrón alimentario en las fases del ciclo menstrual, además de investigar el potencial de la crononutrición en este ciclo. Las bases de datos utilizadas para la consulta fueron SCIELO, EBSCO, CAPES, PUBMED. Se observa que las investigaciones, en general, indican una influencia directa de los relojes biológicos en las funciones metabólicas, además de destacar que el patrón dietético es una de las bases para el funcionamiento del metabolismo hormonal, demostrando la eficacia de la aplicación terapéutica de la crononutrición en las fases del ciclo menstrual y la posibilidad de atenuación de los síntomas. Sin embargo, se percibe la escasez de estudios sobre el tema, lo que dificulta el establecimiento de una estrategia nutricional más precisa. Se ha verificado, por lo tanto, que las investigaciones en general requieren una mayor inversión en el tema para que la crononutrición se establezca realmente como tratamiento para atenuar los síntomas causados en el período menstrual.
