Evidencia preliminar de dos nuevas escalas de autismo: Una propuesta para el cribado de síntomas en población adulta y en el sexo feminino

Se ha observado un aumento en los casos de personas mayores diagnosticadas con trastorno del espectro autista (TEA), lo que permite considerar las herramientas utilizadas para este diagnóstico. El objetivo de este estudio es presentar las primeras etapas del proceso de desarrollo de dos nuevas herramientas para ayudar en este proceso diagnóstico. Se realizó una revisión de la literatura para encontrar medidas construidas para evaluar los síntomas de TEA en adultos y también en mujeres. Después de eso, especialistas en neuropsicología y psicología evaluaron la calidad, claridad y relevancia de todos los ítems. Basándose en el análisis estadístico y los comentarios, se revisaron los ítems y se crearon dos versiones. Los futuros desarrollos de herramientas que ayuden en el proceso diagnóstico deben considerar estas diferencias de género, incorporando ítems que capturen las manifestaciones más sutiles y específicas del TEA en las mujeres.
