Impacto de la resección intestinal en la calidad de vida de mujeres con endometriosis: Una revisión integradora

Introducción: La endometriosis, especialmente en su forma infiltrativa profunda, es una enfermedad crónica que afecta negativamente la calidad de vida de la mujer, provocando síntomas debilitantes e impactando diversas esferas personales. Entre las manifestaciones más graves, la endometriosis intestinal profunda requiere, en algunos casos, cirugía de resección intestinal, un abordaje que puede aliviar los síntomas pero también provocar complicaciones importantes. Objetivo: Investigar la calidad de vida de mujeres con endometriosis intestinal sometidas a cirugía de resección intestinal. Metodología: Se trata de una revisión integradora, con búsqueda realizada de julio a octubre de 2024, en las bases de datos PUBMED, Scielo y Lilacs, utilizando los descriptores: “calidad de vida” y “endometriosis”. Se encontraron 1.532 publicaciones, de las cuales 130 fueron seleccionadas por títulos y resúmenes y 47 tras lectura completa. Resultados: La resección intestinal por endometriosis demostró ser viable y efectiva para mejorar los síntomas gastrointestinales y ginecológicos y la calidad de vida de los pacientes, con bajas tasas de complicaciones y recurrencia a largo plazo. Los estudios comparativos sugieren que el abordaje laparoscópico es una opción favorable sobre la cirugía abierta, ya que ofrece menos complicaciones y mejores resultados de fertilidad, especialmente para la endometriosis en etapa avanzada. Estos datos refuerzan la necesidad de una planificación preoperatoria detallada y un asesoramiento completo, ya que la evaluación de la calidad de vida puede servir como índice complementario en la indicación y el éxito de los tratamientos para la endometriosis. Conclusión: La resección intestinal ofreció mejoras significativas en la calidad de vida de las mujeres con endometriosis intestinal.
