Incidencia del conducto lingual en incisivos inferiores: Una revisíon de la literatura

Resumen

Introducción: La falta de conocimiento anatómico de los conductos radiculares puede perjudicar el tratamiento endodóntico. La Tomografía Computarizada de Haz Cónico (TCHC) es fundamental para analizar la morfología de los conductos. Objetivo: Revisar la literatura sobre el número y la configuración de los conductos de los incisivos inferiores, según la clasificación de Vertucci, y discutir las consideraciones clínicas de dicha morfología. Metodología: Se incluyeron estudios sobre incisivos inferiores humanos permanentes evaluados mediante TCHC, excluyéndose los artículos de revisión. Se utilizaron los descriptores “Mandibular incisor”, “Root canal” y “Cone-Beam Computed Tomography” en las bases de datos PubMed, Embase y Lilacs el 6 de marzo de 2025, sin restricción de idioma ni periodo. Se identificaron 147 estudios, de los cuales se seleccionaron 28 publicados entre 2013 y 2025. Resultados: Se observó una mayor incidencia de dos conductos en los incisivos laterales inferiores (75%) y en los incisivos centrales inferiores (17,86%), con un 7,14% que no especificó el tipo de incisivo. La configuración tipo III de Vertucci fue la más prevalente. En cuanto al sexo, el 64,28% de los estudios no encontró diferencias significativas, mientras que el 17,86% reportó mayor incidencia en hombres y otro 17,86% en mujeres. No se analizó el rango etario. Conclusión: El incisivo lateral inferior presenta mayor incidencia de dos conductos radiculares, predominando la configuración tipo III de Vertucci, sin diferencias significativas entre sexos. La TCHC es esencial para identificar variaciones anatómicas, optimizando el tratamiento endodóntico.
