Comparación entre protocolos de Estimulación Transcraneal de Corriente Contínua em la Migraña Crónica (NEUROMIG)

Resumen

La migraña crónica (MC) tiene una amplia gama de síntomas, con consecuencias debilitantes para las personas refractarias a los tratamientos convencionales. En este contexto, la estimulación transcraneal de corriente continua (ETCC) se muestra como una técnica prometedora, aunque todavía no hay consenso sobre el protocolo más adecuado, que puede variar con relación al número e intervalo entre las sesiones de aplicación. El presente trabajo consiste en un protocolo para evaluar los efectos clínicos y cognitivos de ETCC en la MC en forma de un ensayo clínico doble ciego, aleatorizado y controlado con placebo. La muestra estará compuesta por mujeres de entre 20 y 45 años con diagnóstico de MC. Se aplicará un cuestionario sociodemográfico e instrumentos para evaluar las funciones cognitivas, los aspectos afectivos y la evaluación clínica de la migraña. Los participantes se distribuirán aleatoriamente entre 3 grupos: Grupo 1: recibirá una sesión diaria de ETCC durante 15 minutos; Grupo 2: recibirá dos sesiones diarias de ETCC de 15 minutos, con un intervalo de 20 minutos entre ellas; Grupo 3: recibirá estimulación simulada (sham) durante 15 minutos. El electrodo anódico se colocará en la corteza prefrontal dorsolateral izquierda y el electrodo de referencia en la región supraorbital contralateral. En los grupos 1 y 2, la corriente tendrá una intensidad de 2 mA y será aplicará durante 10 días consecutivos. Se espera que la ETCC sea eficaz para reducir el cuadro sintomático en la MC, con disminución del dolor, estrés y un mejor rendimiento cognitivo. Este estudio contribuirá a la definición de un protocolo de neuromodulación más apropiado, contribuyendo a la toma de decisiones clínicas en MC.
