Medios de comunicación y promoción de la salud en tempos de COVID-19

Resumen

El acceso a la información es una de las formas más importantes de promover la salud. La compresión de las circunstancias actuales ayuda a la población a posicionarse y a enfrentar la pandemia de COVID-19. Sin embargo, la sobrecarga de noticias y datos, muchas veces falsos, genera riesgos a la salud mental y al bienestar. Fomentado por noticias tendenciosas las cuales estimulan el pánico, se observa un aumento global de los niveles de ansiedad y depresión entre otros trastornos psíquicos. Es necesario que los individuos sean informados sobre la pandemia sin ser alarmados. De esa forma, este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar como los medios de comunicación y las redes sociales se relacionan con la promoción de la salud durante la pandemia de COVID-19 y las dificultades generadas por la “infodemia”. Se hizo una revisión bibliográfica integrativa en la cual se usaron artículos científicos de los últimos diez años, de las bases de datos PUBMED, con los descriptores: Comunicación; promoción; Pandemia; COVID-19; Salud. Además de los libros “Comunicação e saúde” y “Health promotion practice”.
