Impacto del videojuego activo en el consumo de alimentos no saludables en adolescentes con sobrepeso: estudio de intervención controlada

Resumen

Objetivo: Se evaluó el impacto del vídeo juego activo, con la ayuda de la gamificación, sobre la frecuencia del consumo de alimentos no saludables entre adolescentes con sobrepeso u obesidad. Métodos: Estudio de intervención controlada con dos grupos de comparación (experimental y control), desarrollado en dos escuelas públicas de la ciudad de Campina Grande - PB. La intervención se realizó con la ayuda de un exergame (XBOX 360), em el período de ocho semanas, asociado a la gamificación. Los datos fueron recogidos en ambos grupos, antes y después de la intervención, fueron ellos: estado nutricional, alimentación (frecuencia de consumo de alimentos no saludables), estilo de vida y sociodemográfico. Los datos fueron evaluados mediante la prueba de qui-cuadrado y McNemar mediante SPSS 22.0, adoptando un nivel de significancia del 5%. El estudio fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética, REBEC y Ensayos Clínicos. Resultados: Del total, 76 adolescentes completaron el estudio. En cuanto al sexo, el 51,3% eran mujeres. El tiempo de pantalla sedentario fue 86,8% de los adolescentes y un 34,2% de un estilo de vida inactivo. El 52,6% tenía sobrepeso y el 68,5% adiposidad abdominal. En la comparación entre los grupos, no fue verificada diferencia estadísticamente significativa con respecto a la frecuencia de consumo de alimentos no saludables después de la intervención. Sin embargo, en la comparación intragrupo, antes y después de la intervención, se observó una reducción en la frecuencia semanal del consumo de algunos alimentos. Conclusión: Se pudo comprobar que el uso del vídeo juego activo como herramienta de práctica de AF, tuvo un impacto em el consumo de algunos alimentos no saludables em el grupo experimental como chocolate, refrescos y paletas heladas.
