Ceratocisto odontogênico de grande dimensão: relato de caso

Resumo

O Ceratocisto Odontogênico (OKC) é uma lesão cuja origem é o epitélio dentário, que tem predileção por ocorrer na parte posterior da mandíbula e é considerada uma das lesões mais comuns dentro dos cistos odontogênicos. O estudo a seguir apresenta um caso de ceratocisto odontogênico de grande dimensão. Uma paciente do sexo feminino apresenta sintomas inflamatórios ao nível da mandíbula. No exame físico intraoral, foi realizado um teste de palpação e, adicionalmente, exames radiográficos, onde foi determinada uma imagem radiolúcida multilocular de 8x3 cm. Posteriormente, foi realizada biópsia cuja histologia era compatível com Ceratocisto Odontogênico. Este artigo revisa as características etiopatogênicas, clínicas, radiográficas, histopatológicas, imunohistoquímicas e de tratamento, com o objetivo de descrever a importância desta lesão dada a sua capacidade de atingir grandes dimensões e apresentar elevada recorrência. Portanto, é importante fazer um diagnóstico correto que permita estabelecer um plano de tratamento adequado para essa lesão.
