Síndrome hematofagocítica e malignidade: uma relação pouco explorada

O objetivo desse estudo foi verificar a relação e as implicações das neoplasias como gatilhos para a hiperativação de macrófagos na linfo-histiocitose hemofagocítica secundária. Foi realizado levantamento bibliográfico na plataforma PubMed com seleção de artigos relevantes sobre o tema proposto usando os descritores “hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis” E “oncology”, incluindo artigos publicados até junho de 2019. descrevendo a evolução das publicações ao longo dos anos, as modalidades de estudos publicadas, e selecionando estudos clínicos para uma descrição e detalhamento. Foram encontrados um total de 4504 trabalhos publicados, desde 1952. Observou-se que houve um incremento no número de publicações a partir da década de 1990, especialmente a partir de 1997. O maior número de publicações ocorreu em 2019. Ainda há uma escassez de publicações de estudos clínicos sobre o tema, sendo que a maioria se concentra em populações pediátricas e portadores de tumores hematológicos. Também demonstra melhores benefícios no uso de transplante alogênico de células tronco hematopoiéticas, além de sugerir mudança de parâmetro diagnóstico. Conhecer condições que podem estar relacionadas a doença oncológica pode melhorar o cuidado integral desses pacientes.
