Diagnóstico e tratamento de lesão endo-periodontal: uma revisão de literatura

Uma lesão endo-periodontal pode ser definida como uma patologia que danifica tanto o tecido periodontal quanto o endodôntico de um mesmo elemento dentário. Com isso, a partir de uma ampla compreensão dos fatores etiológicos dessas lesões, bem como do conhecimento das vias de comunicação entre ambos os tecidos, o profissional poderá executar um bom diagnóstico endodôntico e periodontal, e um tratamento satisfatório. Assim, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo relatar os principais métodos de diagnóstico utilizados para lesões endo-periodontais, e as mais viáveis opções de terapia para cada caso específico da doença. Foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico nas bases de dados Pubmed, LILACS e Scielo, para a seleção de artigos pertinentes ao tema. A partir da revisão, conclui-se que o caminho mais seguro para se evitar diagnósticos equivocados e tomadas de decisão inadequadas diante dessas lesões, é um estudo aprofundado dos seus agentes etiológicos, a compreensão dos seus variados tipos e o conhecimento das vias que comunicam tecido pulpar e periodontal.
