Alternativas cirúrgicas para elevação do seio maxilar: Revisão integrativa da literatura

Objetivo: O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar uma revisão integrativa da literatura, acerca das alternativas cirúrgicas para elevação do seio maxilar. Metodologia: Esta revisão foi realizada através de um levantamento bibliográfico, por meio de busca online na base de dados PubMed e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde. Foram utilizados nesta pesquisa os seguintes descritores indexados no Mesh (Medical Subject Headings) “Augmentations”, “Antrum”, “Bone” e “Bone Graft” interligados por meio do descritor boleano “AND”. O período analisado correspondeu aos últimos 14 anos. Resultados: A literatura apresenta diversas alternativas cirúrgicas para cada etapa do procedimento de elevação do seio maxilar, que partem das técnicas de acesso até a osseodensificação. Conclusão: Embora exista uma gama de alternativas cirúrgicas para a elevação do seio maxilar, a literatura não é consensual quanto a melhor técnica para cada etapa do procedimento. Dessa forma, cabe ao Cirurgião decidir em conjunto com o paciente o plano de tratamento com maior previsibilidade.
