Abordagem multiprofissional no manejo da mucormicose invasiva aguda pós-COVID-19: Relatos de casos clínicos

Resumo

Mucormicose é uma doença fúngica rapidamente progressiva, com maior acometimento rinocerebral, pulmonar, cutânea e gastrointestinal. Possui característica destrutiva e alta morbidade e mortalidade, o diagnóstico e abordagem necessitam ser efetivos, rápidos e multidisciplinares. A maioria das infecções humanas resultam da inalação de esporangiósporos fúngicos que foram liberados no ar ou na inoculação direta de organismos na pele ou mucosa danificada, sendo os principais causadores os fungos Mucorales. Sua associação com a COVID-19 mostrou relevância clínica e poucos relatos anteriores de coexistência. O objetivo deste estudo é relatar dois casos de mucormicose invasiva aguda em cavidade oral de paciente pós-COVID-19 em hospital do interior do Estado de São Paulo. Os relatos podem contribuir na etapa de identificação precoce da doença e fornecer informações técnicas para auxiliar no tratamento de pacientes acometidos por essas doenças. Almejamos ampliar o conhecimento e sugerir a hipótese de que novos estudos deverão ser realizados com finalidade de investigar a correlação entre mucormicose invasiva aguda pós-COVID-19.
