This study aims to explain the use of the social network Twitter, by the National Council of the Public Ministry - CNMP, through its @cnmp_oficial account, and to verify whether it is being used as a form of extra-institutional accountability in relation to transparency in the actions of the Public Prosecutor for Citizens in Combating the Covid-19 Pandemic19. To do so, the conceptualization of the CNMP, its origin and formation is first presented, and then an exploratory analysis of the data obtained from the Twitter account is carried out, through the data mining approach with the Python tool, where it was possible to collect data and generate graphs and tables of all posts since account creation, checking the volume of posts per month before and after the start of the pandemic, volume of audience interactions as well as the number of posts related to Covid-19 and their impact with the public, making this analysis in the light of the bibliography of authors such as Fábio Kerche, Fernando Filgueiras, Helga Almeida, José Eisenberg, Manuel Castells, Monique Menezes, Rogério Arantes, among others. This study demonstrated that the CNMP leveraged the use of the network, exponentially after the start of the pandemic, and the interaction of citizens with the account significantly increased, which shows that the use of the social network can be considered as a form of extra-institutional accountability.
