Enfoque cienciométrico sobre la bioactividad de las briófitos: el potencial anti insectos y las perspectivas para el siglo XXI

Resumen

Este estudio realizó una abordaje cienciométrico sobre la bioactividad de las briófitos frente a los insectos y generó panoramas sobre las prometedoras técnicas biotecnológicas para esta línea de investigación, en el mundo. Se buscaron en bases de datos virtuales producciones académico-científicas relacionadas con la temática, de 2000 a 2020, y sobre las novedades y perspectivas en briotecnología para el control de insectos. Los datos cuantitativos fueron tabulados y analizados en frecuencias, utilizando el software Excel 2018, siendo representados en forma de tablas y gráficos y la información cualitativa en tablas. Se mapearon 19 trabajos (16 artículos, dos notas científicas y un capítulo de e-book), repartidos por continentes (excepto la Antártida) y entre los años, con la mayor producción asiática en 2012-2013. Se identificaron 16 especies de hepáticas (10 familias botánicas) y 38 de musgos (23 familias), cuya bioactividad se evaluó mediante extractos o plantas in natura frente a lepidópteros, dípteros o coleópteros, con resultados satisfactorios para antifeedant y/o insecticida y/o inhibidor del desarrollo. Los manuscritos enumerados se publicaron en 15 revistas de diferentes factores de impacto, cuando había, y uno estaba en un e-book, generalmente con acceso restringido. El número total de citas de estos trabajos fue de 255, principalmente en investigaciones indiferentes a este tema. Las técnicas de ingeniería genética, cultivo in vitro y criopreservación de briófitos se citan como tecnologías actuales que pueden apoyar la bioprospección de plantas avasculares a escala comercial y sostenible. En el mundo hay poca investigación sobre la relación insecto-briófito que pueda servir para el desarrollo de plaguicidas agrícolas naturales. Por lo que se sugiere expandir la bioprospección de brioflora por su potencial biotecnológico en el control de plagas combinado con las técnicas biotecnológicas actuales que pueden impulsar la producción comercial y sostenible de plaguicidas briófitos o contribuir al mejoramiento de las plantas agrícolas.
