¿Reimplantación o implantación en avulsión dental, qué ha cambiado en estos últimos años? Una revisión narrativa

La avulsión dentaria es una de las situaciones urgentes que pueden influir en la fisiología masticatoria, cuestiones estéticas y afectar la calidad de vida del paciente. Para el tratamiento de esta desgracia puede estar indicado un reimplante o implante dental. Objetivo: Ante la posibilidad de que en los últimos diez años hayan surgido nuevas prácticas y/o evidencias clínicas en el uso de técnicas de reimplantación o implante en la avulsión dental traumática, la presente revisión narrativa propuso una breve discusión, en la perspectiva de contribuir a una terapia más eficiente. y una mejora en la calidad de vida del paciente. Metodología: Las estrategias de búsqueda se estructuraron a partir de términos MeSH/ y términos DeCS/MeSH, en la base de datos /PubMed, y búsqueda manual, para los términos: Tooth avulsion, Traumatic dental lesion; Reimplantación de dientes, Implantación dental. Se incluyeron artículos, accesibles en su totalidad, que abordaran la técnica de reimplantación o implante dental después de avulsión traumática, en humanos, sin restricción de idioma y publicados hasta 2022. Se excluyeron cartas al editor y textos de opinión. Conclusión: La práctica del reimplante dental muestra pocos cambios a lo largo de los años, según esta revisión. Consiste en un tratamiento de rescate, incluso considerando una evaluación clínica cuidadosa y basado en protocolos ya establecidos, ya que aún no hay consenso sobre el reimplante en avulsión traumática. Por otro lado, los procedimientos relacionados con los implantes, muchas veces asociados al uso de materiales de injerto y membranas, se han presentado como una excelente opción en la corrección de la pérdida dentaria.
