Infección por SARS-CoV-2 en paciente diabético tipo I insulinodependiente con cetoacidosis posterior – Reporte de Caso

Resumen

Reporte de caso de una paciente de 28 años de edad, de sexo femenino, con antecedentes de diabetes mellitus tipo 1, que ingresó al servicio de urgencias de un hospital regional de su ciudad de origen por cuadro respiratorio de 08 días de evolución manifestado por disnea, náuseas, vómitos, dolor abdominal y disminución del nivel de conciencia. Tras la valoración inicial se diagnosticó infección viral aguda por SARS-COV-2 mediante RT-PCR detectable y cetoacidosis diabética concomitante mediante cuadro clínico y gasometría arterial. Luego fue trasladada para un hospital en Manaus e internada en una cama de Unidad de Terapia Intensiva, siendo dada de alta después de 22 días de internación con mejoría sustancial en su condición respiratoria y resolución de la cetoacidosis diabética. Se evidenció que existe una íntima correlación entre la infección por SARS-CoV-2 y la aparición de Cetoacidosis Diabética en pacientes diabéticos, además de la necesidad de seguimiento y cuidados en UTI para el mejor desenlace.
