Evaluación de los tratamientos de quimioterapia utilizados en la terapia del cáncer colorrectal: Una revisión narrativa

Resumen

El cáncer colorrectal es la cuarta neoplasia en número de muertes en el mundo. Afecta a miles de personas, a menudo diagnosticadas en una etapa tardía, lo que hace imposible la cura. Por ello, buscamos adaptar los tratamientos ya conocidos, así como desarrollar nuevas formas de terapias. El objetivo de esta investigación fue encontrar estudios recientes que buscaran evaluar las diferentes terapias utilizadas para el cáncer colorrectal. Metodología: Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica, donde los artículos buscados fueron buscados en la base de datos Pubmed, utilizando palabras clave. Resultados: Veinte artículos fueron analizados para la construcción de la revisión. Conclusión: Entre los estudios encontrados por esta revisión, es claro que algunos tienen resultados muy alentadores en relación a nuevos tratamientos para el cáncer colorrectal, pero necesitan más investigación, aumentando, por ejemplo, el número de participantes. El mayor problema del tratamiento del cáncer intestinal sigue siendo el diagnóstico tardío y la toxicidad/seguridad de las terapias utilizadas, y algunos estudios se han detenido a investigarlas, tratando de encontrar formas de reducir los efectos secundarios en el paciente, mejorando su bienestar.
