Crecimiento y diversificación en las pequeñas empresas: una revisión sistemática de la literatura

No es necesario realizar una búsqueda exhaustiva y completa en las bases de datos para comprobar que los estudios seminales sobre el crecimiento de la empresa se centran y se guían por el punto de vista de la gran empresa, portadora de una estructura organizada y una jerarquía definida. Este contexto refuerza la necesidad de ampliar la visión académica de la pequeña empresa, que se ha convertido en una figura importante en las economías de todo el mundo. Compuesta generalmente por una gestión conservadora en el proceso de crecimiento, los pequeños empresarios diversifican su cartera de productos y servicios a partir de su experiencia y aprendizaje previos para garantizar la subsistencia de las familias y de las vidas. Así, esta Revisión Sistemática tiene como objetivo posibilitar y fomentar el estudio de las pequeñas empresas buscando entender lo que la literatura discute y presenta sobre el crecimiento de las pequeñas empresas basado en la diversificación empresarial. Así, a través de la utilización de palabras clave en dos grandes bases de datos, fue posible verificar la evolución del concepto de crecimiento a lo largo del tiempo, identificar diferentes componentes que influyen en el crecimiento de las pequeñas empresas, así como identificar varios aspectos abordados por la literatura en relación a la pequeña empresa y su respectiva expansión.
