Uso de tecnología de rehabilitación por parte de terapeutas ocupacionales: una revisión de alcance

Resumen

La Terapia Ocupacional es una profesión de la salud que se enfoca en realizar ocupaciones para mejorar la funcionalidad del individuo. Actualmente la Terapia Ocupacional se encuentra entrando en la revolución digital, en la que las Tecnologías de Rehabilitación (TR), como la robótica y la realidad virtual, están presentes en la práctica de la rehabilitación. El objetivo del estudio fue caracterizar cómo se utiliza la Tecnología de Rehabilitación en la intervención de los terapeutas ocupacionales. Se realizó una revisión del alcance en revistas de terapia ocupacional nacionales e internacionales, con base en la guía de revisión del alcance del Instituto Joanna Briggs, y también se utilizó la lista de verificación PRISMA-ScR para la revisión del alcance. Se incluyeron 28 artículos y los resultados fueron analizados cuantitativamente para generar gráficos y tablas, así como insertados en un guión para la recolección de datos cualitativos. Los resultados muestran que la mayoría de los terapeutas ocupacionales utilizan la realidad virtual como RT, y que es más utilizada en pacientes adultos con Accidente Vascular Cerebral (AVC), aunque la RT se puede utilizar tanto en rehabilitación física como en salud mental, en pacientes de cualquier grupo de edad. . Además de proporcionar momentos placenteros en la terapia, mayor compromiso y motivación, reduciendo la fatiga del terapeuta y del paciente, el uso de la RT presentó beneficios terapéuticos, precisión en las evaluaciones y ganancias en habilidades motoras y funcionales.
