Comportamientos de movimiento en 24 horas en ancianos: una revisión sistemática

Resumen

El objetivo detesta revisión sistemática fue sintetizar estudios que evaluaran las características del comportamiento de movimiento de   24 horas en ancianos no institucionalizados. Se trata de una investigación realizada en tres bases de datos electrónicas (PubMed, Web of Science y Scopus) de enero a marzo de 2022. De los 395 estudios encontrados, 26 se incluyeron en el análisis final. Los estudios incluidos mostraron buena calidad metodológica (con una puntuación de ≥ a 70%) y se realizaron en 17 países diferentes.  En estos estudios se utilizaron medidas objetivas (acelerómetros) y/o subjetivas (cuestionarios) para medir el comportamiento de 24 horas. Los hallazgos apuntan a un bajo nivel de actividad física (AF), exceso de comportamiento sedentario (CS) y alteración y/o baja calidad del sueño entre los ancianos. También se observó, entre los ancianos, una mayor concentración en el tiempo dedicado a CS, en comparación con el tiempo dedicado a la actividad física regular y al sueño. Sin embargo, existe la necesidad de más estudios en esta área, especialmente estudios longitudinales y experimentales, con medidas objetivas y subjetivas para ayudar a comprender mejor los comportamientos de 24 horas y sus posibles implicaciones para la salud de los ancianos.
