Springs environmental perception in rural properties

Abstract

Springs are one of the main sources of water supply for the population living in rural areas. Through the application of a questionnaire composed of 16 questions and based on IIAN (Springs Environmental Impact Index), the objective was to capture the environmental perception of producers about ten springs, with each owner evaluating those belonging to his property. The study region is in the rural area of Floriano, district of Barra Mansa, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro. According to the environmental perception of these owners, 50% of the springs fit within the degree of reasonable preservation, 40% were considered to be in good condition and 10% were classified in the degree of preservation considered poor. The type of questionnaire applied can supply, indirectly, the lack of information on water quality and the conservation of springs in that area. Therefore, the analysis of environmental perception allows to understand the man/environment relationship.

Hanna Fajardo Ramos, Fluminense Federal University

Master in Environmental Technology, by the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program at the Fluminense Federal University-Volta Redonda/RJ. Bachelor in Environmental Management, from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro-Instituto Três Rios (UFRRJ-ITR). Degree in Geography from Faculdade de Educação Paulistana (FAEP), in the Special Program for Teacher Training for Basic Education. Interest in the recovery of degraded areas, water resources, environmental management and environmental education. Worked on spring recovery in the case study of the monograph and master's thesis. He has experience in the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR).

Danielle da Costa Rubim Messeder dos Santos, Fluminense Federal University

Associate Professor III of the Department of Chemistry at the Institute of Exact Sciences of the Federal Fluminense University (UFF) and also accredited to the Graduate Program in Chemistry in the National Network (PROFQUI). She has a Post Doctorate in Chemical Engineering in the area of Heterogeneous Catalysis; Doctorate and Master in Organic Chemistry, in the area of Heterogeneous Catalysis, in addition to Graduation in Chemical Engineering and Degree in Chemistry. She is currently vice coordinator of the National Network Chemical Graduate Program (PROIQUI) at the UFF Volta Redonda unit. She works in the following areas of research: sustainable use of water, environmental pollution and hydrogen as an energy alternative.

Roberta Fernanda da Paz de Souza Paiva, Fluminense Federal University

He holds a degree in Economic Sciences from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2002), a Master's in Applied Economics from the Federal University of Viçosa (2005) and a PhD in Economic Development from UNICAMP (2010). She is currently an associate professor at the Fluminense Federal University, professor of the Graduate Program in Environmental Technology / UFF and Deputy Head of the Department of Agribusiness Engineering. She has experience in Economics, with an emphasis on Economics of Natural Resources, working mainly on the following topics: Ecological Economics, water resources and environmental valuation.

Welington Kiffer de Freitas, Fluminense Federal University

He holds a degree in Forest Engineering from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (1997), a master's degree (2001) and a doctorate (2012) in Environmental and Forestry Sciences, also from the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro. He works as a collaborator at the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ) and as an Adjunct Professor at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF). During the period from 2027 to 2020, he coordinated the Graduate Course in Environmental Technology (PGTA)-UFF. Currently, he holds the position of vice-coordinator of this Program (2021-2024 period). He has experience in the area of Forest Resources and Forest Engineering, working mainly on the following topics: ecology, conservation of natural resources, management of Conservation Units and environmental management .
