Sepsis pediátrica en la sala de urgencias: Una revisión de la literatura

Resumen

La investigación aborda el manejo de la sepsis pediátrica en salas de emergencia y la importancia de implementar protocolos basados en evidencia para la identificación temprana y el tratamiento adecuado de esta condición crítica. El objetivo fue analizar cómo la adopción de pautas estandarizadas influye en la reducción de las tasas de mortalidad y morbilidad en niños afectados por sepsis. La metodología adoptada consistió en una revisión bibliográfica cualitativa y narrativa, con análisis crítico de estudios, guías clínicas y artículos científicos relevantes extraídos de bases de datos académicas calificadas. Los principales resultados destacan que la aplicación sistemática de protocolos, que incluyen la administración temprana de antibióticos, la reposición de volumen guiada por objetivos y el monitoreo continuo, mejora significativamente los resultados clínicos, reduciendo la mortalidad y las complicaciones asociadas. Además, herramientas como puntajes pronósticos, algoritmos de triaje y alertas electrónicas contribuyen al reconocimiento rápido de la sepsis, mientras que la capacitación continua de los equipos de salud es esencial para la efectividad de estas intervenciones. La conclusión indica que la estandarización del manejo de la sepsis pediátrica, combinada con la capacitación profesional y el uso de tecnologías de apoyo, representa una estrategia eficiente para optimizar la atención en las salas de emergencia, asegurando una reducción de las complicaciones y una mejora en las tasas de supervivencia.
