Ozonioterapia na odontologia: revisão sistemática de literatura

Resumo

O objetivo desse estudo foi realizar uma revisão sistemática para avaliar os efeitos da Ozonioterapia na Odontologia. As bases de dados utilizadas foram Pubmed, Embase, Web of Science, e OpenGrey. A palavra-chave: “Ozone” combinada com uma das seguintes palavras chave: “Dentistry”, “Teeth”, “Tooth”, “Enamel” e “Mouth” foram utilizadas para fazer a busca, apenas ensaios clínicos randomizados foram incluídos. A ferramenta ROB2.0 foi usada para avaliação do risco de viés. 36 artigos foram incluídos, 7 foram classificados com um baixo risco de viés, 17 com um risco incerto e 12 com alto risco. Em sua maioria, os artigos apresentaram bons resultados nas mais diversas áreas da Odontologia e o ozônio mostrou uma ampla aplicabilidade, porém a grande quantidade de artigos classificados com um alto risco de viés ou risco incerto pode ser um fator limitante das evidências encontradas. A Ozonioterapia mostrou resultados satisfatórios em sua aplicação na Odontologia, porém, devido ao grande número de artigos com risco de viés alto ou incerto, nossas evidências são limitadas. É necessária uma maior quantidade de ensaios clínicos randomizados para avaliar os reais benefícios da Ozonioterapia na Odontologia.
