Impactos da pandemia de COVID-19 na saúde física dos idosos: uma revisão integrativa

Objetivou-se revisar a literatura quanto à identificação dos impactos na saúde física dos idosos ocasionada pelo isolamento social durante a pandemia COVID-19. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, realizada por meio de uma estratégia de busca nas bases da Literatura Latino Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS via BVS), SciVerse Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed e Science Direct, através dos descritores de saúde “older adults”, “motor activity” e “COVID-19” e de acordo com as leituras prévias sobre o tópico de interesse. Foram incluídos 25 estudos, publicados a partir do ano de 2020 em inglês, espanhol ou português, que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão e exclusão adotados e abordaram as repercussões do isolamento social na saúde física dos idosos de diferentes regiões do mundo. A partir das medidas de restrição e isolamento adotadas para a contenção do contágio pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2, pode-se observar repercussões no bem-estar psicológico e físico dos idosos. As interrupções das atividades físicas, recreativas e de necessidades diárias no período pandêmico repercutiram no aumento da incidência da fragilidade, sedentarismo e má-nutrição que, consequentemente, atinge de forma negativa as relações psicossociais desses indivíduos elevando os sintomas depressivos e de ansiedade.
