Impactos da pandemia COVID-19 na saúde mental dos idosos: uma revisão integrativa

Resumo

Objetivou-se revisar a literatura quanto à identificação dos impactos na saúde mental dos idosos nas diferentes vertentes induzidas pela pandemia COVID-19. Revisão integrativa da literatura, realizada por meio de uma estratégia de busca nas bases Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, Scopus e Web of Science, através dos descritores de saúde “older adults”, “mental health” e “COVID-19”. Foram incluídos 17 estudos publicados a partir do ano de 2020 que abordaram as repercussões do isolamento social na saúde mental dos idosos. O isolamento social, efeito da pandemia COVID-19, foi capaz de afetar negativamente a qualidade de vida dos idosos, proporcionando consequências na condição de saúde mental. Os sintomas depressivos e de ansiedade elevaram-se durante a pandemia, repercutindo em situações de estresse, insônia, medo e solidão.
